Meet your school marketing team
We're Ian and Steve.
For over ten years we've helped schools across London improve the way they look online and attract more families. We've worked with headteachers, school business managers and local authorities, so we understand the pressures schools face — the budgets, the timescales, the governors, and what an empty desk in September actually means.
We're deliberately small. That means every school gets our personal attention, honest advice and solutions that are right for them — not a sales target.
Why schools?
We're digital marketers by trade. School Marketing Works grew out of our established London marketing agency, where we spent years running campaigns, building websites and managing advertising for businesses of every kind.
Schools became our focus because of personal experience. Our first client — featured in the case study — was run by a personal friend and was struggling with a falling roll and the budget restrictions that stemmed from it. We knew it was a brilliant school with fantastic staff, and all they needed to do was let the local community know. We knew we could help, and our case study shows how we did.
We saw that schools were facing a genuinely hard commercial problem — fewer children, more competition — with none of the marketing support businesses take for granted. So we decided to fix that, and we've been doing it since 2018.
What we bring
Everything a school needs under one (small) roof — the whole nine yards, without the agency layers.
That breadth matters for schools. Your website, your photography, your open day posters and your advertising all have to tell the same story — and because the same two people make all of them, they do.
How we work
We start every conversation the same way: tell us about your school and your numbers, and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help. If your problem isn't one marketing can fix, we'll say so before you spend anything. And when we do take a school on, you work directly with us — no account managers, no handovers, no surprises.
Come and say hello.
We're happy to talk it through, whatever stage you're at.
